King Street revelers rejoice: There will soon be another late-night pizza parlor opening up for your post-cocktail consumption. Virginia-based pie peddler Benny Ravello’s passed inspections recently and should open very soon. The pizzeria opens in the former George’s Loan Co. space at 520 King St. This downtown slice shop is a cousin of Benny Palmetto’s in Mount Pleasant.
One open, Benny Ravello’s will sell 28" pizzas and huge slices of cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. The month specials for April are garlic mushroom and Buffalo chicken.
The Benny chain is also home to the one hour pizza challenge, in which amateur eaters can win $500 by eating an entire 28" pepperoni and sausage pizza in under 60 minutes (it weighs eight pounds).
Benny Ravello’s will open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight and Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
