Southern Charm-er JD Madison’s new vision for 276 King St. opens this Friday, March 31. Upcoming concept Gentry Room & Bar will offer Gullah cuisine from chef Marvin Woods and advisor Charlotte Jenkins. The Lowcountry fare is said to be designed to pair with “Gentry’s extensive whiskey and craft cocktail program.”
Eater photographer Leslie McKellar takes a quick tour of the space here.
Look for dishes like fried chicken livers and feet with lacinato kale and grainy mustard dressing, local Bulls Bay oyster cluster with local sour orange and green onion mignonette, “Awendaw 10 Mile Boil” with local seafood and potatoes in a light broth.
Starting Friday, Gentry will be open daily for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., dinner on Sunday through Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Expect brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Live music hits the lounge Thursday through Saturday.
