Charleston crowds queued up this weekend to check out the updated address for boba tea cafe Tapio. The establishment recently moved from 65 Spring St. to around the corner to 221 1⁄2 Coming St. in order to expand its offerings. With the relocation came a kitchen, which now means downtown has a new option for Thai and Taiwanese cuisine.
In addition to all the frozen, milk, and fruit teas, Tapio’s menu now includes khao man gai (Thai chicken and rice), lu rou fan (pork belly over rice), yansu ji (fried chicken in a secret sauce), and nang gai tod (deep-fried chicken skins).
Tapio updated its website with some new food porn for those wanting to see the dishes before ordering. The restaurant opens from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
