WEST ASHLEY — Much-loved soul food spot The Glass Onion is turning nine next week. To celebrate, they’re putting on a week of dirt-cheap beer: from March 20 to 25 (that’s Monday to Saturday), all Charleston craft brews will be half-price, across both lunch and dinner. The Glass Onion’s regular specials like happy hour will keep on going, too. [EaterWire]
UPPER KING — The spring edition of mini food-fest Taste of Hutson Alley is coming up in early April. Holy City Hospitality’s six restaurants on the alley (as well as Good Food Catering) will be serving up a range of small plates from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday April 6. Those restaurants are 39 Rue de Jean, Coast Bar and Grill, Michael’s on the Alley, The Victor Social Club, Virginia’s on King, and Vincent Chicco’s, and a ticket is $65. Some of the menu highlights, as well as tickets, are available online. [EaterWire]
ISLE OF PALMS — Waterfront seafood and steak restaurant Morgan Creek Grill is teaming up with Charleston’s all-organic Freehouse Brewery for a special six-course beer pairing dinner Monday March 27. It’s $55 per person for the six courses with accompanying beers — expect a robust, beer-friendly menu with chile relleno and alligator sausage courses, and beers ranging from the hoppy (Green Door IPA) to something a little more dessert-friendly (Freehouse’s Kiwi Peche). More details are on Morgan Creek Grill’s site, here. [EaterWire]
