Ring those bells and gather the masses, because at 5:30 p.m. today, Charleston finally gets to experience Mexican restaurant Pancito & Lefty. Almost two years in the making, the newest addition to North Central comes from restaurateur Jimmy Poole (The Alley) and chef Robert Berry (formerly of Indaco). They’ve hosted several mezcal and taco pop-ups during the construction phase, so plenty of people are already fans before the opening.
The menu went live on the website today and offers dishes like chicken tamales, tacos al pastor, queso fundido, quesadillas with squash, mushrooms, and huitalacoche, and many more traditional Mexican dishes. The cocktail menu lists plenty of tequilas, mezcals, beers, and wine.
Pancito & Lefty is located at 708 King St. and will unlock the doors at 5:30 p.m. today.
