$2,500 to be exact

The minds behind throwback eatery Little Jack’s Tavern went down to Miami Beach, Florida to participate in The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival. Other than soaking up sun and fun, restaurateur Brooks Reitz and chef John Amato were at SOBEWFF to show off the Little Jack’s burger at the Heineken Light Burger Bash presented by Schweid & Sons hosted by Rachael Ray.

Amato brought his 4-ounce patties, sesame bun, American cheese, and sunchoke relish to the crowds and judges at the SOBEWFF competition. His journey to Florida paid off though, because in the end Amato took the title of the Very Best Burger Award given out by Schweid & Sons. Along with a photo opportunity with Food Network stars Rachel Ray and Ayesha Curry, Amato brought home a giant $2,500 check, and got to hang out with Rev Run (who didn’t look so thrilled in Amato’s Instagram photo).

Rev Run forgot to smile, but we were all happy.
