Pizza Replaces Tacos on Sullivan’s Island

When popular margarita and Baja spot Mex 1 moved on to the same street as Taco Mamacita, many predicted the competition would lead to changes. As foretold, Taco Mamacita shuttered the 2213 Middle St. space last October. The address sat empty over the holiday, but a tipster recently noticed a sign for 450 Pizza Joint on the building. This means the rumors of a pizzeria replacing Taco Mamacita are true.

With plenty of choices for tacos on Sullivan’s Island, pizza could be a standout on Middle Street — though Obstinate Daughter does have a selection of pies on its menu.

450 Pizza Joint has a Facebook page and a logo, but not much else is known about the new concept at this time. Eater has reached out for more information.
