Farm-to-table restaurant Sorghum & Salt landed in Charleston in February, and chef/owner Tres Jackson is ready to take the space to the next level with a chef’s tasting counter.

Patrons who make reservations on Resy, can sit right next to the kitchen, for a bit of a show, with the seven-course meal. Jackson, or a member of his team, walks the customers through the dishes. For those who may not be familiar with ingredients like yuzu or popped sorghum, Jackson will elaborate on the details of the plate.

The menu will change weekly. A recent list of offerings included fresh made sausage with smashed pear and a fennel cream, local shrimp with crispy Brussels leaves, charred mushrooms in dashi, and more.

There are only six seats available on the counter, with two seatings available nightly at 6:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The tasting menu is $75 per person and an optional wine pairing for $50 per person.

Sorghum & Salt is located at 186 Coming St.
