Forthcoming Felix will serve as a Parisian-inspired cocktail bar with small plates. “We want French to be fun,” restaurateur Felix Landrum told Eater during a recent walk through of the space at 550 King St.
Landrum brought chef Nathan Thurston to help shape the food menu. There will be pommes frites, but most dishes will be clean, seasonal flavors made to be shared. Boris Van Dyck, owner of ICEBOX Innovative Beverage Services, is consulting with Landrum for the cocktail menu, which will lean towards French classics.
Landrum’s parents are from Paris and he’s trying to bring the same environment he grew up with to the Lowcountry. “I really want to get to know my guests. I have a lot of ideas to bring, but I want to learn from my guests” he said. Landrum cited that Thurston has helped him navigate the Charleston audience.
Felix should be serving cocktails and small plates this November.
