Take a Spin Around Nico Before the Opening

Almost time for oysters

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Chef Nico Romo’s newest venture Nico will officially unlock the doors on Wednesday, November 1. Located at 201 Coleman Blvd., Mount Pleasant, the forthcoming brasserie with a raw bar, will focus on local seafood, wood-fired French classics, and plenty of oysters.

The full menu, released on Friday, October 27, is full of caviar and scotch selections, including a scotch oyster, an upscale take on an oyster shooter. Also look for crab verrine, lobster salad with brioche, fish cocotte, and gratin de fruits de mer.

The staff at Nico is preparing for the opening by hosting family and friends events, leading up to Wednesday. Here, Eater photographer Lauren Utvich takes a tour around the Shem Creek space before the public gets access.

Once open, Nico will serve dinner seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. On Thanksgiving weekend, the restaurant will add brunch service on Saturdays and Sundays and will open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
