Former French Laundry Chef Brings Friends Together for Fundraiser

Plus a new cocktail menu for Bar Mash

EASTSIDE — Chef Jason McKinney, formerly of French Laundry, will bring his culinary friends together at the Cedar Room on Monday, October 23, for a five-course dinner to raise money for slain chef Shane Whiddon’s family. Chefs on the roster for the evening: McKinney, Ian Cairns (French Laundry alum), Aaron McClendon (Sea Island Resort alum), Tim Morton (Mercantile & Mash), Colin Archangeli (Atlas Restaurant), Scott Crawford (Crawford & Son), and Daniel Zeal (The Georgia Room). NORTH CHARLESTONLe Creuset will host a Factory-to-Table Sale event at the Charleston Area Convention Center on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 12, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each session will feature discounts on Le Creuset products. Tickets, which are available in two-hour shopping sessions here, are $10 for Friday and Saturday and free-of-charge Sunday. One hundred percent of the proceeds from all ticket sales benefit local partners The Green Heart Project and culinary scholarship funds for Culinary Institute of Charleston students at Trident Technical College.
