NOMO — On Tuesday, October 11, Edmund’s Oast will host a special champagne dinner with chefs Sarah Simmons and Aaron Hoskins of Birds & Bubbles in New York and Rise Gourmet Goods and Bakeshop in Columbia. Together with chef Reid Henninger, the group will create a menu of Southern snacks, fried chicken with watermelon salad, braised chicken with Anson Mills Carolina Gold rice grits, and roasted duck breast with dirty farro and baby mustard greens. EDISTO ISLAND — Asheville-based Buxton Hall Barbecue chef Elliott Moss stops by the Lowcountry on Saturday, November 12, for a “Roasted and Smoked” event with chef Joe DiMaio of Darling Oyster Bar. Buxton Hall recently made Bon Appetit’s best new restaurants list, and Moss will be selling his new book, Buxton Hall Barbecue’s Book of Smoke: Wood-Smoked Meat, Sides and More. For $75, guests will be able to enjoy an oyster roast and pig pickin’ (and Revelry Brewing beer), from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Geechie Boy Farm. Books will be on sale for $20. [EaterWire]
