James Beard Award-winning chef Vivian Howard of Emmy-winning “A Chef’s Life” will tour her cookbook Deep Run Roots, Stories & Recipes from My Corner of the South this fall.

According to the press release for the book, Howard “has tricked out a massive food truck and will be driving it around several U.S. cities, serving up dishes from Deep Run Roots!” Not many cookbook tours include a mobile kitchen, so this should be exciting for fans to try samples of Tom Thumb, shrimp stew with poached eggs, watermelon pickles wrapped in bacon, Scarlett’s chicken and rice, warm banana pudding, Pepsi and peanut ice cream floats from Howard’s restaurant Chef & the Farmer.

Howard stops in Charleston on October 18 at Whole Foods with Blue Bicycle Books.
