Big news today on Upper King as 492 announces that opening chef Nate Whiting will leave the restaurant, “effective immediately,” and former Two Boroughs Larder chef Josh Keeler will take his place on Monday, September 19.
Whiting has been with the Relish Restaurant Group since his days at Tristan on Market Street. The press release does not specify what is next for him, but quotes him as saying, “I have enjoyed working with this team for many years and I appreciate the opportunities that they have afforded me, but I am also looking forward to new opportunities and time with my family.”
As far as what 492 will look like under the helm of Keeler, the statement says, “After a period of transition, the menu will shift to better reflect Chef Keeler’s cuisine.”
Look here for more details on Whiting’s next steps, menu changes at 492, and what to look for this fall from Keeler.
