Nope, not a Waffle House

Brace for Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® pancakes in downtown Charleston, because an IHOP franchise plans to set up shop. Opening in mid-December, the chain will bring its menu of omelettes, waffles, bacon-stacked plates, pancakes (duh), and other breakfast items to 215 East Bay St. This IHOP will also offer a take-away coffee bar, which is relatively new for the chain. The former Tsunami space should turn into a 365-days-a-year maple syrup dispensary before Christmas.

Representatives for IHOP say the Charleston store will seat 174 guests and create 120 jobs.

The East Bay IHOP will open regular hours during the week and keep the batter sizzling for 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
