Charleston's Most Summery Sundae Comes With Housemade Gummy Bears

And two flavors of ice cream!

The team at fancy bar food spot Warehouse opened old-school soda shop Parlor Deluxe last year with a promise to "celebrate classic American culture in a hip and lively setting."

Chef Emily Hahn remixes familiar dishes with interesting, new flavors, like tater tot poutine with ham gravy and ale beer cheese and the "Sylvester Shalom" hot dog covered in Russian dressing, housemade sauerkraut, and fontina cheese. And then there's the sweet side of Parlor Deluxe. Hahn concocts egg creams, shakes, and waffle sundaes.

In this video, Hahn shows off her latest, daily-inspired waffle sundae deluxe. In an ode to the flavors of summer, Hahn layers fresh-out-of-iron waffles with cantaloupe and berry sherbert, toasted oats and nuts, housemade berry gummy bears, whipped cream, and local honey.

Check in with Parlor Deluxe to see what special sundae the kitchen offers this week.
