NOMO — On Friday, August 26, GrowFood Carolina will host a Mushroom Gathering to honor the change in state guidelines to allow the resale of foraged mushrooms. Attend to sample fungi dishes from chefs Ennio Vazquez (Blu Restaurant), Chelsey Conrad (Butcher & Bee), Travis Grimes (Husk), Jared Rogers (upcoming Pawpaw), Greg Garrison (Prohibition), Russ Moore (Slightly North of Broad), Vandy Vanderwarker (The Ordinary), Robert Stehling (Hominy Grill), and Damon Wise and David Schuttenberg (Scarecrow and Co.). There will me beverages from Cannonborough Beverage Company, and local breweries Frothy Beard, Holy City Brewing, and Revelry. The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. and tickets are $45 — available online. NOMO — Ramen pop-up 2 Nixons and NoMo darling Spero are teaming up on Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27 for a collaborative dinner. Chefs Jeffrey Stoneberger, RJ Moody, and Rob Laudicina will present a menu of “izakaya-style” snacks, ramen, Korean chicken, and more. WESTSIDE — The 2017 Charleston Wine + Food ticket launch party will be held on Thursday, September 15 at The Citadel’s College Park Field. Dubbed the Grand Slam Jam, the party will feature an local chefs, lots of booze, and live music from '80s + '90s cover band The Spazmatics. The theme is vintage baseball.
