DOWNTOWN — Boozy festival BevCon starts up this weekend, and if you didn’t nab a pass, you can still hang out at the bar takeovers on Sunday and Monday. Bold names in the bartending world will stop by local watering holes to show off their skills and interesting spirits. [EaterWire]

HUBWIDECharleston Beer Week takes place September 11 through September 17 with various brew-related activities across the Lowcountry. Lead organizers Chrys Rynearson and Timmons Pettigrew from CHS.Beer planned 42 events with more announcements forthcoming — many focus on locally-brewed beer, while others focus on complementing craft beer with everything from brunch, to yoga, to kayaking, to ghost tours.
