Ashley Lanes Bowling Center has stood at 1568 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. since 1959. The Charleston institution hadn’t put much effort into its food offerings at the snack bar, but now Queen Street Hospitality Group (82 Queen, Swig & Swine, Lowcountry Bistro) wants to change that with the new Ashley Lanes Tavern inside the complex.
Now Ashley Lanes Tavern serves burgers (that you can stack 10 patties high, though they recommend stopping at four), pulled pork from Swig & Swine, fried chicken, pork rinds, boiled peanuts, and more. The space also offers specialty cocktails (many of Lebowski theme), local craft beers, and a PB&J special all the time: 16 oz. PBR and a Jell-O shot for $3.
The restaurant celebrates a grand opening on August 19, starting at 6:00 p.m. The evening will feature happy hour prices all night, $1 Jell-O shots, live music from Jump Castle Riot, and $2.50 bowling games. One attendee will win a meet-and-greet with Darius Rucker, two tickets to his Charlotte, NC show on August 27, and $200. Find out more on the Ashley Lanes Tavern Facebook page.
