Upscale Sports Pub Meeting at Market Unlocked the Doors

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Posh sports den Meeting at Market opened yesterday at 4:00 p.m. The newcomer in the Belmond Charleston Place shops boasts 16 big-screen televisions and 20 draft beer taps. Meeting at Market inters are covered in pine paneling, the bar is walnut, comfortable leather seating surrounds the room, and giant, bright windows face the street. All the windows create a feeling of brightness — unlike most dark, neon-lit sports bars.

The pub will have every sports package available, so if you’re looking for a game, they’re probably showing it.

The menu from chef Tarquino Vintimilla plays on quintessential pub food, like fish and chips, and elevates the dishes. Look for seafood boards, appetizers of bacon served with maple syrup, signature burgers, and more.

Meeting at Market opens Monday through Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to “late,” and Saturday through Sunday 11:00 a.m. to “late.” Hours will be extended during significant televised sporting events.
