Located in the Belmond Charleston Place shops, Meeting at Market will premiere its 16 big-screen televisions and 20 draft beer taps later this month. The new sports bar wants to keep a casual environment for patrons to relax in, though with the surroundings of pine paneling, a walnut bar, and leather seats, the interiors will be a bit posher than most TV-filled water holes — it is in the Charleston Place, after all.
Tarquino Vintimilla takes the role of executive chef at Meeting at Market. Vintimilla most recently led as executive chef at Co in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Savannah. Originally from Ecuador, Vintimilla has experience opening restaurants in Las Vegas, Seattle, Honolulu, and in Seoul. The menu at the restaurant plays on quintessential pub food, like fish and chips, and elevates the dishes. Look for seafood boards, appetizers of bacon served with maple syrup, signature burgers, and more.
Matthew Gaetz will be in the front of the house at Meeting at Market as general manager. His most recent position was as banquet manager and executive steward at Charleston Place. Gaetz says that the pub will have every sports package available, so if you’re looking for a game, they’re probably showing it.
