Crews are hustling at Le Farfalle to get the forthcoming Italian restaurant up and running soon at 15 Beaufain St. The door displays the logo, but there's still a lot going into the space right now. Le Farfalle predicted a June opening, but with two more days left in the month, that's highly unlikely.
Eater has a feeling Charleston is willing to wait for chef Michael Toscano's food however — especially after celebrity chef Mario Batali tweeted his approval of the Italian eatery opening in the Lowcountry.
Toscano made a name for himself in NYC with restaurants like Perla, Montmartre, and Jeffrey's Grocery. Toscano's forthcoming Charleston restaurant will feature similar Italian fare. For a preview of what may be to come, the chef's agnolotti al sugo d’arrosto was named a "Best New Pasta Dish" by Eater New York in 2013.
Toscano's wife Caitlin will run the front of the house once the restaurant opens.
