Charleston-based lawyer Akim Anastopoulo has spent his fair amount of time in the spotlight. In the early aughts, he presided over a reality show court in Eye for an Eye, which is described in many YouTube comments as "better than Jerry Springer." According to Wikipedia, Anastopoulo was nicknamed "Extreme Akim" on the program because of his harsh, and sometimes wacky, punishments.

More recently Anastopoulo has appeared on Charleston-based Bravo show Southern Charm as Craig Conover's boss at the Akim Anastopoulo Law Firm. If you don't watch the show, Anastopoulo tries to help Conover become a lawyer, and they often drink wine while wearing blazers.

When he's not on television, Anastopoulo runs several law offices across the Lowcountry. Most recently though, it appears he may be opening a restaurant on Upper King. Eater came across an Alcohol Beverage Licensing notice on the former Charleston Beer Works space stating the license was for "Mr. Cs LLC."

Anastopoulo filed for a "Mr. C, LLC" on April 28, 2016. "Mr. Cs LLC" is ever so slightly different than "Mr. C LLC," but the similarity in names is so close that one could imagine it’s the same entity, especially since there are no other LLCs registered in South Carolina titled "Mr. Cs LLC." Though, there is a non-profit with the name, but why would a non-profit apply for an ABL?

Is Extreme Akim getting in the food and beverage business? Not much else is known at this time. Eater reached out to Anastopoulo's firm but hasn't heard any confirmation.
