The tips started coming in hard this week that long-time McCrady's chef Daniel Heinze (known as Dano to friends) would soon depart the Charleston institution for new opportunities. Today, Neighborhood Dining Group confirms that next Saturday will be Heinze's last service as chef de cuisine at McCrady's

Saturday, June 25 will be Chef de Cuisine Daniel Heinze’s last night in the McCrady’s kitchen. We’re incredibly grateful for the immense talent and leadership he brought to the kitchen, and we can’t wait to see what he does next. On Sunday, June 26, McCrady’s will journey back ten years and offer Chef Sean Brock’s favorite dishes from his first menu in 2006. This menu will be offered through the summer, and we hope you’ll come join us for a walk down memory lane!

Heinze has been a part of the Unity Alley kitchen since 2007 and stepped into the chef de cuisine role in 2013.

There are no further details on his departure at this time, but there are rumors that Heinze might be headed to San Diego.
