Downtown Italian Restaurant Le Farfalle Predicts June Opening

And answers some FAQs

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Chef Michael Toscano's transformation of Leaf Cafe into Le Farfalle is almost complete. Construction crews can be spotted daily at 15 Beaufain St., and there's a recent call for resumes, as the restaurant staffs up. Le Farfalle asks potential employees to stop by the space June 1, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; June 2, noon - 5:00 p.m.; June 5, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; June 6, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

In a recent email to newsletter subscribers, Le Farfalle explains some FAQs:

We do not have a phone number yet, and are currently not accepting any reservations, but we will be sure to let you know when we are ready and comfortable to do so.

We will be serving a modern take on regional Italian food.

We are not a fine dining restaurant. We will have table cloths in the dining room for your comfort, however we wish for everyone to know that they are important to us and you can feel comfortable walking in off the streets, just as you are.

We will release the menu closer to opening, please be patient with us, it is a constant work in progress.

We will have an extensive home made pasta section and feature as many local ingredients as possible.

While the email doesn't reveal a whole lot of details (other than tablecloth situation), it does promise an opening by the end of June. Keep here for more details as they come.
