Meeting Street Music Club Breathes New Life Into Vintage Digs

See you on the dance floor

When business partners Taylor Grant and Robbie Marty took over former Eastside club Touch of Class two years ago, Grant tells us they wanted to maintain many of the same elements for the bar's reopening as The Commodore. They kept the stage, the dance floor, the carpet, the paintings, and even the old photos of patrons from Touch of Class. Vintage lounge seating, leather banquettes, and a small bar area with a jukebox surround the stage of The Commodore. Grant says crowds have been large, despite only being open a week and without promotion.

The bar serves classic cocktails, beer, and wine. The food offerings follow a '70s supper club theme with pigs in a blanket, potato salad, meatballs, and cheesecake on the menu.

The Commodore is located at 504 Meeting St. and opens from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
