Less than a year after opening, Chick's Fry House hangs up its apron. Chef/owner Robert Stehling announced today that the North Central chicken cafe would shutter immediately, calling it the "most responsible financial decision." Chick's got off to a rough start with less than stellar reviews from critics and the neighbors in the Wagener Terrace neighborhood.

Chick's worked to overcome its bumpy start by adding Nashville hot chicken and Hominy Grill's famous Charleston Nasty to the menu, but it seems it wasn't enough to draw the crowds.

Stehling closed his announcement with, "I'm very grateful to the staff for their dedication and hard work and to all our wonderful customers.  We will miss serving them but appreciate their loyalty and support."
