Saturday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m., the public finally gets a taste of the flame-kissed goods going down at 23 Ann St. as Wise Buck Smoked Meats opens the doors. This new addition to the Charleston scene comes from chef Damon Wise and brand builder Jonathan Buckley. This is the first of the three concepts the team will open in the former train depot as Scarecrow & Co. Wise Buck Smoked Meats is located on the south side of the building near John Street; it is the most casual of the trio and focuses on slow-cooked meats of many varieties, seasonal market sides, canned beers and wine, and at an affordable price.
While the menu isn't online yet, a press release for Wise Buck Smoked Meats describes a few menu items:
The eatery, helmed by Chef Wise, offers inventive slow-cooked meat dishes and market-driven sides. Menu items include a mortadella dog with schmaltz onions and mustard; Baltimore-style pit beef with horseradish cream; crispy pork rinds with peel and eat flavors; and smoked corn-on-the-cob. To compliment the bold and smoky flavors, guests can choose from an array of canned wines and beers.
Wise Buck Smoked Meats will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
