EDISTO ISLAND — Chef Aaron Swersky of Abundant Seafood partners with Geechie Boy Mill and Revelry Brewing for an al fresco evening of grits, garden-grown vegetables, local seafood, and award-winning beer on Sunday, May 1, at 6:00 p.m. For his Fish and Grits Dinner, Swersky wants to highlight Lowcountry ingredients and the magic of outdoor cooking. Guests will get to enjoy a family-style meal with plenty of brews under historic oaks at Geechie Boy Mill on Edisto Island. Tickets are $100 and are available online. [EaterWire]

NOMO — This spring, non-profit organizations Lowcountry Local First and Enough Pie invite food trucks from around the county to park at 1600 Meeting to service community members at lunchtime. Trucks include The Farmer's Wife, Platia, Dashi, Short Grain, and Rebel Taqueria. WEST ASHLEY — Supper club Commune hosts a soft-shell crab dinner on April 17. They've invited chefs Blair Machado (Park Cafe), Blake Joyal (The Westendorff), and Air Casebier (Feats Charleston) to create a four-course dinner of the springtime delicacies. Tickets are $135 for the meal and beverage pairings.
