When Eastside dive Palace Hotel suffered a fire earlier this year, former guests suspected it would be some time before they would see good times on Hanover Street again. Fires aren't easy to bounce back from — it took Anson years to rebuild, and Charleston still waits for Speakeasy to make a comeback. However, former Palace Hotel co-owner Taylor Grant found a way around the downtime by simply reopening somewhere else (and under a different name). Last night, Palace Hotel announced Grant's newest venture, The Commodore, unlocked the doors at 504 Meeting St.

The Commodore takes over the former jazz club Touch of Class. In 2014, Eater tracked a story that Sheppard Street LLC was asking for permission to build a music venue and restaurant in the space. We've reached out to Grant for more information on the latest bar to hit the Eastside and promise more details as the come.

And HERE IT IS!!! The COMMODORE!!! Come See Us!!! We're Open!!! 504 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC - Eastside!!!
