While the official start of spring may be a few days away, Charleston kitchens are already reaping the benefits of the season. Products associated with the end of winter are popping up on menus across the Lowcountry. Chef Jason Stanhope showed off his stalks of asparagus at FIG, and chef Kevin Johnson tweeted a big order of shad roe at The Grocery.
While asparagus and shad roe may not create the same fervor as soft shells, it's still a pretty great time to be eating in the Holy City.
