Chef Kevin Getzewich joined wood-fired Italian eatery Indaco as the chef de cuisine in September 2015. Less than a year later, Getzewich moves up to the executive chef position. He's been with restaurant group The Indigo Road (makers of Indaco) since July 2013, when he took a position at Upper King eatery The Macintosh. Beyond that, Getzewich worked at modern pantry Two Boroughs Larder, The Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia, and famed Le Bernardin in New York City.

With Michael Perez, the former executive chef at Indaco, running Atlanta-based Indigo Road restaurant Colletta, Getzewich saw an opportunity to take over. "He asked us for it," says proprietor Steve Palmer, "And he deserved it."  With Perez in Atlanta, Getzewich was able to take a sense of ownership over the menu that fit within the rustic Italian sense of the restaurant.

In addition to the promotion, Getzewich has also been in the news recently for chartering a children's nutrition program at Carolina Voyager Charter School on Race Street.
