The Refuge
Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Coffee bar/casual dining eatery The Refuge took over the former Bushido space on Isle of Palms. As the tentacled logo suggests, The Refuge serves coffee, wine, and food that requires a fork a knife. The island cafe opens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Two pages of the menu are dedicated to cold and hot sandwiches — the bread comes from local heritage grain heroes Roots Baking Company.

The Refuge opens at 1517 Palms Blvd., Isle of Palms, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Hours may change for the weekend, but the staff is currently determining what those hours might be.

Here's the whole list of daily offerings.
