James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef Lauren Mitterer opens the doors to her second WildFlour Pastry in West Ashley today. The store, at 1750 Savannah Hwy., carries retail goods, but also allows Mitterer to expand her commercial kitchen to service more restaurants and caterers.
An employee at the downtown WildFlour Pastry says that Sticky Bun Sundays will continue on Spring Street and will begin in West Ashley soon. For the uninitiated, WildFlour's sticky buns are a thing of sweet tooth legend. Crowds line up early for the one day the breakfast pastry is offered. Now they'll have two locations to hunt the bun.
Hours for the West Ashley WildFlour are Tuesday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
