Faculty Lounge Couple Wants to Bring Pizza/Wine Bar to Huger Street

North Central is hot.

A small stretch of Huger Street is quickly becoming a hotbed of culinary activity. First, cocktail bar Faculty Lounge took off, then juice garden Huriyali unlocked the doors, last week North Central Delicatessen opened to the neighborhood, and now there's news of a pizzeria and wine bar planned for 384 Huger St.

The unnamed pizza eatery is the work of Erik Hutson and Nayda Freire, the couple who revamped Faculty Lounge over a year ago. They are currently renovating the interiors of 384 Huger St. and plan to open their pizza/wine bar near the end of 2016. Huston says the establishment will be open six days a week, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and promises more details as they are available.

It sounds like the North Central neighborhood might overtake Upper King as Charleston's hot culinary destination in 2016.
