Posted on November 30, a listing on Good Food Jobs seeks an executive chef for Southern brasserie Henrietta’s. The position was originally held by Wes Morton, who has a long history of acclaimed hotel restaurants in D.C. and Houston.

The Dewberry, the hotel Henrietta’s is housed in, released the following statement from general manager Scott Dawson:

Regretfully, Wes Morton, Executive Chef at The Dewberry, will be moving on at the end of the year for personal, family reasons.

Wes has done a very credible job throughout pre-opening and during the first few months of operation at The Dewberry to lead Henrietta’s talented culinary team. We have been delighted with the early reviews of Henrietta’s, The Living Room and those received regarding our weddings and special events. Charleston’s vibrant culinary community are all sad to see Wes’ talents leave the Lowcountry.

Wes will remain at The Dewberry through the end of the year, effecting a seamless transition with our culinary team.

We wish Wes the very best and remain grateful for the foundation Wes built in The Dewberry kitchen.

Henrietta’s won praise from local critics for “over-arching deliciousness” and being a “constant place.” Look here for who might take Morton’s place.
