Rodney Scott Doesn’t Give Up Opening Date Yet

Not so fast

Rodney Scott

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Lovers of whole hog barbecue are keeping close tabs on the construction of Rodney Scott’s BBQ at 1011 King St. Included in this group is local videographer and Charleston food enthusiast Brenda Peart. She recently found Scott outside of the former Chick’s Fry House space and chats with him about the construction of the smoking pit.

Peart lets the audience know that she’s tried to peek behind the brown paper on the windows, but she hasn’t caught a glimpse of the dining room yet. She also tries to get an opening date out off Scott, but he’s not giving up that information so easily. According to initial reports, Rodney Scott’s BBQ is supposed to unlock the doors before the end of December.

Watch below for Peart’s quick Instagram interview.

Just having a moment with @rodneyscottsbbq ... great things abound!!!
