Since 1999, frugal eatery Joe Pasta has anchored John and King Streets. Last October, the restaurant went up for sale, but the Joe remained — until yesterday. The Italian restaurant took down all its signage and JohnKing Grill + Bar now stands in its place. Instead of meatballs at 428 King St, you will find pork rinds, bacon fat confit wings, steak sandwiches, smashed burgers, and Vienna beef dogs.
Open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., the menu is bound to capture casual lunch crowds, late night eaters, and anyone looking for a $10 burger on Upper King Street. The new JohnKing concept comes from the folks at taco stop Juanita Greenbergs.
Have you popped by this newcomer yet? Let us know what you think. Will you miss Joe Pasta? Let us know that too.
