A new option for imbibing varietals and nibbling on cheese recently opened in the Elan Midtown apartment complex. Wine & Company set up shop at 441 Meeting St. with the intention to bring interesting bottles and a relaxing space to enjoy them to the downtown area.

Husband and wife team Joshua and Molli Walker opened the establishment to bridge the gaps in retail wine for the peninsula. Joshua told the Post & Courier that the shop’s competitive prices should keep wine lovers in the area, rather than driving to Mount Pleasant or West Ashley in search of bottles.

The duo describes Wine & Company on the website:

Our warm, laid-back bar and shop serves wine, craft beer and small plates with energy and respect. No formal servers means no pressure to leave—keep us company as long as you’d like.

Joshua has substantial training in wine from his time at the Woodlands Inn and Accents on Wine, both in Summerville.

The store/bar opens Monday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
