This week, raw bar emporium The Ordinary hosts two special guests for two special experiences. On Friday, November 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., James Beard Foundation Award winner Rowan Jacobsen, author of The Essential Oyster, stops in with signed copies of his book, while the restaurant provides booze and smoked, raw, and crispy bivalves. Tickets are $50 and available by calling the restaurant at (843) 414-7060.
Then on Sunday, November 13 at 11:30 a.m., chef Mike Lata welcomes Asheville-based chef Katie Button, Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chef, 2015, and James Beard Foundation Award Nominee: Rising Star Chef, to prepare a family-style feast with some favorite dishes from her book Cúrate. Expect seafood towers, grilled lamb skewers, Spanish-style French toast, and more. Tickets for the brunch include bottomless sangria, the meal, and a signed copy of Button’s book for $94.14 (available online). The Ordinary doesn’t open during the day, so this a rare opportunity to see the restaurant from a different perspective.
