Edisto Island restaurant Ella & Ollie’s recently opened the doors this fall only to be faced with a natural disaster. When Hurricane Matthew hit, the small beach town of Edisto was devastated. Shortly after the storm, Ella & Ollie’s announced the building made it through, but they would need time to asses the equipment and other supplies.
Today, the restaurant announces its reopening. For those not familiar, the concept comes from industry vets Philip Bardin, Brandon Rushing and Jackson Hatch.
Partner/consultant Bardin is known for his time cooking at iconic Edisto Island Old Post Office restaurant. Executive chef/owner Rushing formerly held the position of sous chef at The Old Post Office and chef de cuisine at Blossom Restaurant. General manager/owner Hatch was most recently on the opening team of Charleston’s Butcher & Bee restaurant.
Located at 21 Fairway Dr., Edisto Island, Ella & Ollie’s offers lunch and dinner with a menu of Lowcountry classics, like shrimp louie and crab cakes, but also newer favorites, like a Brasstown Farms beef burger with smoked cheddar, bacon jam, bibb lettuce, and tomato.
Have a look around here at the interiors before making the trip.
