Comedian Marlon Wayans (White Chicks , Scary Movie 2, Scary Movie) is in Charleston filming his new Netflix movie Naked. According to Post and Courier, the romantic comedy is a remake of Swedish film Naken. It’s basically like Groundhog Day, but Wayans’ character wakes up in the buff in an elevator the day of his wedding and must relive the hour before his ceremony over and over again.
What does this have to do with Charleston restaurants? Earlier this week, Wayans was spotted filming outside of hip cafe The Daily, and today, he’s posted up at forthcoming Ink n Ivy. The new American restaurant isn’t open yet, but the PR team did confirm the actor is filming there. Charlotte-based Bottle Cap Group decided earlier this year to install a Lowcountry version of Ink n Ivy into the former Taylor's Pawn Shop address at 565 King St. The space has been under construction for some time. Other outposts of Ink n Ivy include stores in Charlotte and Greenville.
