Pawpaw Shows Off Chefs’ Jackets and Hush Puppies

Coming soon?

Pawpaw
Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Southern plates eatery Pawpaw continues towards a fall opening on East Bay Street. Renovations continue on the former Wet Willie’s space, while the kitchen massages the menu. A recent preview dinner for Pawpaw showed off fried chicken, a Millionaire’s Cut steak, North Carolina wines, spinach agnolotti with Mississippi short rib, beignets with key lime custard, and plenty of traditional Southern sides.

To keep interest going, the team from Pawpaw continues to tease food porn on its Instagram account, like the latest “fluffiest hush puppies you’ll ever taste.” The restaurant also shows off the staff in the new uniforms.

We’re keeping an eye out for an opening date, but it shouldn’t be before too long.

Say hello to the lightest, fluffiness hush puppies you'll ever taste
