Nacho home Taco Mamacita opened on Sullivan’s Island in 2011 with a somewhat tepid review from critic Deidre Schipani stating, “Taco Mamacita's problems are easy to fix. Its sassy location on Middle Street, its accommodating and friendly wait staff and its value-priced menu offer tradition and innovation for today's diner.”
The restaurant progressed through the years, but recently a few Eater tipsters noticed that Yelp and Facebook stated that Taco Mamacita is “Permanently Closed.” Phone calls and emails to the establishment have gone unanswered.
When margarita and Baja spot Mex 1 moved on to the same street as Taco Mamacita, many predicted the competition would lead to changes. Rumors started that Taco Mamacita would transform into a pizza concept, which has not been confirmed.
If you hear anything about the closure or transformation, let us know.
