Mobile Mediterranean truck Platia doles out Greek snacks, pitas, salads, and house-made yogurt. The blue and white truck serves traditional fare, but also has a sense of humor and offers the "Hillbilly" pita full of feta pimento cheese and chicken for the uninitiated. The truck usually sets up at 595 King St. and is a favorite of the late night crowds — lamb gyro can go a long way to prevent hangovers.
Now, however, you won’t have to brave the frolicking crowds of bachelorettes and tipsy tourist for a bite of Platia, because the kitchen will bring it to you with a new delivery service. For those downtown, you can call the truck at (843) 882-7443 on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to midnight and Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Always wanted pork souvlaki at your doorstep? Now it’s a reality. Check out Platia’s full menu on Facebook.
