CANNONBOROUGH/ELLIOTBOROUGH — Mighty meaty spot Artisan Meat Share will host a hot chicken pop-up on Saturday, January 9, with Atlanta-based chef Todd Richards, of upcoming Richard's Southern Fried. There will be normal fried bird for those who can't stand the heat and "Richards' HOT!" for those who crave more burn. The spicy goodness starts at 5:00 p.m., goes until 8:00 p.m., and prices vary from $10 for wings to $13 for a two-piece. [EaterWire]

NORTH CENTRAL — Pasta. Pasta. Pasta. Local chefs Ken Vedrinski (Trattoria Lucca) and Chelsey Conrad (Butcher & Bee) join Portland-based chef Jenn Louis (Lincoln Restaurant and Sunshine Tavern) at Butcher & Bee to showcase a meal exploring the regions of Italy on January 20. Tickets for the family-style meal start at $95.94 and include a copy of Louis' book Pasta By Hand.  [EaterWire]

HUB-WIDE — January is typically the slow season for restaurants, since everyone is trying to stick to resolutions, the cold weather, and the fact that everyone spent all their money over the holidays. Many establishments take this time for renovations. City Paper lists the January closings, along with the info on 'Wich Doctor's six-week shutter. [CP]
