Along with the fresh coat of canary-hued paint at 357 King St. comes a confirmation that the forthcoming space will be a Turkish restaurant. Proprietor Recep Dinli tells us that he and his family were encouraged to bring traditional Turkish cuisine to Charleston after opening Turkish home decor and fashion store Kissmet at 177 King St.

Dinli and crew are currently converting the former Firehouse Subs space into Turkish restaurant Turquoise. "... we are working on it, [and] will open the doors with the great Turkish hospitality," says Dinli.

Look for more details, like an opening date and menu items, as they come.
