Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

With a steel drum smoker out back and a Bob Marley "Freedom" flag affixed to the ceiling, Caribbean Delight unlocked the doors earlier this month to bring traditional Jamaican fare to North Charleston. The menu contains national Jamaican dish ackee and saltfish, daily specials from curried goat to stew pork to oxtails, and customary sides like festival (fried cornmeal dumplings), bammy (cassava flatbread), roasted breadfruit, and more.

Caribbean Delight is located at 3309 Rivers Ave., North Charleston and is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
