Fast-casual pizza chain Donatos wants to add four eateries in the Charleston area. The pizzeria started in Columbus, Ohio and has over 150 locations, with the majority in Ohio. Donatos is know for its "Edge-to-Edge" pie, in which toppings are piled to the end of the pizza, and for placing over 100 pepperoni slices on every large pepperoni order.
The first outpost for Donatos will be at 214 Azalea Square Blvd., Summerville. The new restaurants will be owned and operated by local residents and veterans of the hospitality trade Dane and Jaclyn Kopnisky — Dane actually worked at a Donatos as a teen.
After the Summerville store opens, the team is looking at Mount Pleasant as the next location and then West Ashley and North Charleston will follow.
