MOUNT PLEASANT — Welcoming cafe Morgan's Market recently unlocked the doors to caffeine-seekers East of the Cooper. The new eatery offers King Bean coffee, local beers, wine, salads, breakfast fare, and interesting sandwiches, like the Hawaii 5-0 with Capicola ham, grilled pineapple, banana peppers, arugula, and brown sugar mayo. Status: Open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1455 Stuart Engals Blvd., Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT — Home of the Lowcountry's only toast bar, Vintage Coffee & Cafe is the newest venture from entrepreneur Brian Piesner of Coastal Crust fame. For anyone who has visited the mobile pizza truck, you'll recognize the same classic aesthetic at the cafe. Vintage serves coffee and espresso drinks, varied toast options (for example: prosciutto, fig jam, brie, and balsamic glaze toast), lox plates, waffles, egg sandwiches, French toast, not to mention all the lunch sandwich and salad offerings. Piesner says Vintage will offer beer, wine and a more tapas style menu Thursdays through Saturdays. Status: Soft opening now but will be officially open on September 11. Hours are Sunday through Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 219 Simmons St., Mount Pleasant.
